explorer & disciple trying to do something greater than myself

I'm in Germany for a few days and loving it! I've gotten to visit my bestie's home ( @lmp.mfg - which was SO FUN!), and now I'm at a YWAM base that I did my outreach at when I was a discipleship training school student. Three years ago I was painting the bedrooms in a building that was basically a construction site - we had one "makeshift shower," no heaters, no wifi, one small lamp in our bedroom for 7 girls, and simple mattresses on the floor. Now I'm staying in the same bedroom I painted with full beds and dressers and see a base that is bursting with life and beauty. It's amazing to see how your work in foundations can be transformed into something far greater than you can see and understand. These few days have been so fun, and Deutschland never disappoints!! 🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪

Wow. Nigeria was amazing! I'm still reflecting on all of the incredible people I met and their stories. I'm constantly humbled that people would trust a stranger like me and tell me their story and allow me to take their photo. It's so fun that whenever that process happens, we instantly become friends! So I'm missing all my new friends in Nigeria and have tons of photos from the few weeks so I'm going to continue posting some of them for a bit! But for now I'm in Ireland for a few days - I'm currently at a YWAM gathering where we are just going to seek the Lord, seek community, and get refreshed. Excited for a tiny break and seeing what the Lord has for these few days!

Beautiful African mornings ✨ // wow. I have had an amazing time in Nigeria these last few weeks! Sadly, today I make the day-long journey to the airport to fly out! I have loved being here, and I fell in love with the people here! They have been so welcoming to me and have loved me so well. I'm so humbled that they would open up to me and tell me their stories and allow me to take their photos. But I'm also so inspired by them. I heard crazy stories these past few weeks - guys being ex-militants and now following Jesus, women becoming widows and children becoming orphans because of Boko Haram destroying their families and homes, and people with Muslim backgrounds that are now Christians that have been persecuted for their faith. Yet through all of this, their faith is unwavering. They bless God continually for his goodness, grace, mercy, and faithfulness. They have pushed me to have greater faith. I'm so sad to be leaving my new friends and family that I have come to love, but I'm leaving with such a full heart!! Until we meet again, Nigeria! 🇳🇬

Fresh tomatoes were delivered as a donation for the orphans and widows! It's been amazing to hear stories and see God's constant provision and faithfulness. He always knows our deepest needs and will meet them. He sees us and is always faithful!

"Joy" // The children here are filled with so much joy, energy, and fun! Whenever I get around them, I end up getting surrounded. They love love love photos and everyone wants theirs taken (and to see it on the back of the camera right after). I never run out of subjects! They've touched my heart and made me feel so loved. I'm so thankful to be here!

Boko Haram has destroyed communities and lives all over Nigeria. I've heard story after story of people running for their lives, spending days in the bush trying to find safety, and losing family members in the attacks. These sisters' were some of the lives that were affected and now they are left without their father. Their mother is a widow and they are considered orphans. Yet as I interacted with them and their family, I am in awe and inspired by their strength, courage, perseverance, and joy.

You're strong and courageous. // Today I was hearing some of the orphan's stories about how Boko Haram attacked their homes and communities and destroyed their families. My heart just broke. Death is something that's very real and normal to them. I don't understand evil or why this had to happen - especially to these kids. But I just have to rest in the knowledge that God can turn evil into good and the bitter into sweet, and that he's a God of redemption. They are strong and courageous, and there will be redemption.

Here I go! I'm leaving the island for a bit to go to Nigeria to use photography and media for a few projects there! One project will be about ex-militants that have become Christians and are now needing a new base, which is 320 acres and will provide them with the availability to do farming sustainability! The second is about widows and orphans that our non-profit has taken, helping them with housing and food, and uplifting the church and Christians in that area!
Then on the way back I will be stopping in Europe for a YWAM gathering in Ireland as well as visiting the YWAM base in Germany that I worked out on my outreach a few years ago!
I'll be posting as much as I can depending on the Internet situations. Please pray for my heart, my mind, and my hands. That I will love like Jesus, that I will see and create with Jesus, and that I will have the skills to create with excellence with my hands!

Sometimes it's easy to get so busy and forget to see the beauty in the place you live. I'm so thankful that when I'm not traveling, I get to come back home to paradise! Im so lucky - thank you Lord! 😳🙌🏼

"Every morning that the sunrises and you get to rise? That's God saying He believes in you, that He believes in the story He's writing through you. He believes in you as a gift the world needs."

I'm convinced more and more everyday how much every person in every nation deserves to be loved and hear about the love of Jesus. I never want to settle or stop fighting for that.
